The reason i thought of doing it this way was because version 2.2 dev of the bridge software supports multiple server modules. So you could have the standard full-feature server on station 253 and the ssd server on 252, and switch between them with *I AM. The ssd server would have much more dfs-like commands and operations, without the true folders etc.
I don’t know how well nfs copes with server changes, and some utility to copy between them would be needed, but the main use of ssds is for accessing old software, so you want it to be as much like dfs as possible.
