I know it's a bit late to ask but there were two things I wanted to achieve at ABUG that I would really appreciate some help with.
- I have A BBC Master that for a long time I have wanted to get upgraded in the following manner: I'd like the CPU and 6845 CRTC easily swappable, by installing some ZIF sockets. I've got the Master (well ... several Masters, perhaps some are more suitable than others) but I don't have the soldering skills necessary to desolder the existing chips and then solder on the ZIF sockets ... and there may be complications owing to nearby components/circuitry getting in the way. Nevertheless if anyone might be able to take a look and help me out I'd very much appreciate it.
- I've started archiving all my old Beeb games and other software using a Greaseweazle, and I'm concerned that my drives may be wearing out or slowly becoming degraded by all the discs I'm putting through them. If anyone would be happy to take a look at them and identify if they need some TLC -- e.g. lubrication, greasing etc -- it would again be much appreciated!
