If the returned value is zero non-zero, this means an error occurred, and you should print a suitable message and stop your program report it to the user.
Oops. :oops: Do what I meant, not what I said. If the returned value is anything but zero, this means an error occurred.
Essentially, that's the routine in the BeebWiki OSWORD &7F article, without the belt and braces.
It was ripped off from heavily inspired by Kevin Edwards's Disc Editor as published in The Micro User, with a little tweak to allow changing the number of sectors to read / write. Still, I guess there are only so many ways to write code to do the same stuff, so there's bound to be a bit of family resemblance .....
