And I’ve learnt some basic diagnostic skills out of this too. While I couldn’t find the fault, learning to follow schematics and Ian’s instructions was interesting and fun.
That's always a big plus!

TBH, debugging this also confirmed what we generally knew from RiscPC ... VIRQ/SIRQ faults are usually due to the VIDC not being programmed properly because the data bus is damaged in some way. The thing that was odd here was that because of the specific data lane that was damaged, and probably because of how the pin floated, some sound setup commands were actually being accepted, so sound DMA was being set up (IOC sees SIRQ in appropriate timescales during POST, so shows no SIRQ error).

IME, this particular fault/location is very unusual - battery rot is usually all located around ... the battery :lol:
