I am sure you need a 1770 version of Replay if you are using 1770 DFS in your BBC.

1. replaced the 8271 with retroclinic 1770 upgrade
2. 8271 V1.1 -> with a 27128 vine replays MK2 blown eprom.
3. i put on some big expensive IC chip clip

Its an intermetten fault, when Beeb warms up it seems,
1. I check the volts,
2. if not i power it up from a accurate bench PSU. on all the +5V and 0V -5V levels,
3. if not start put in drilled round sockets in and start checking the memory logic paths
