That’s understandable. It’s often best to stick to one game at a time, especially as these games can be so demanding & lengthy. Not sure how long it took me to finish The Dungeon, but it was probably 30+ hours I reckon. I got stuck a few times too, took breaks then came back to it fresh over the course of about a month.Hopefully it will be out before Christmas. I am prioritizing "Wizards & Warriors" at the moment which was the last game on my list to play before bumping The Dungeon back on the list. Even if I am fast-tracking W&W it have been the largest game I had left.
Finding these obscure games and giving them coverage must be very time-consuming to play a game then make videos too, but also satisfying when it’s all completed. If I find any obscure blobbers (gems or otherwise) that fit your criteria I’ll let you know, but you’ve been very thorough with your research, so it’s unlikely! It's definitely one of the most obscure games I ever started. I noted it was first mentioned on rpgdot just a few years ago. I did several "first walkthrough on youtube" videos and been on lookout for more super-obscure games. The Dungeon fits the description well. But walkthrough videos take a lot of time to make even if the actual video end up short.
Thanks for this - I’d never heard of Autohotkey before but I’ll be using it from now on.It's pretty simple if you have Autohotkey installed. Just save the following with a .ahk filetype. This is for a Swedish keyboard though, so you need to change the "ä" into the right character on your keyboard.
I’m not 100% sure but I think there are 12 levels in total. 10 levels are part of the main game which you have to get through to escape. There is also a secret level hidden away that is worth having a look at containing decent equipment, loot and a novelty enemy. (I think it’s found on level 7, will edit this when I’m sure)How many levels are there?
On the penultimate level where the exit is there’s also a bonus floor (not hidden) above this level. I didn’t realise that, so completed it anyway, but isn’t necessary for finishing the game. It mainly contains puzzles and treasure and is unusual in its design sometimes. There was one puzzle I was stumped on for ages here, but after finally working it out the “reward” got me trapped in a room with seemingly no way out! If you do it, I’d be interested to see if you spot something I missed.
Yeah, it was Anthea in my game too. I tried most of the things you tried too, including removing the “nasty dagger”. I wonder if it’s a bug?In my game Anthea seem to get fatigue faster than any other character. In fact, she was the only one gaining fatigue.
To save you a ton of time I’ve been going through all the completed levels on my last save to check what I found, but haven’t had time to do all of them yet. Not sure if I can access some areas again though without replaying the level. I can also take screenshots if needed. You’ll probably find some I missed so I’ll add them to the list.So far I haven't. I noticed the most obvious one in the first level but none in the 2nd or 3rd so far, but I wasn't thorough. I could probably take a moment now after starting the 3rd level to go back with a savegame to hug the while 2nd one.
Illusory wall spoilers:
I’m sure to have missed quite a few and some of this info might be incorrect (will edit when sure)
Level 1 - I think you’ve found the only one there
Level 2 - Didn’t find any on this level
Level 3 - There’s an obvious one in the area with the “Black Monk Awaits” sign
Level 4 - Haven’t found any here either - I think this level is split into two distinct sections
Level 5 - Can’t re-access parts of this, but I remember 2-3 in a room with a large central pit and teleporters
Level 6 - There’s one in the “Belfry” area and another in the corridor near the exit stairs to level 7 on the left side
Level 7 - At least a couple in the “Banquet Hall” with food/water + a hidden entrance to secret level
Level 8 -
Level 9 -
Level 10 -
Level 11 - Extra floor not required to finish game - A few here, including illusory walls behind illusory walls
Secret - Several to be found here
