Just a suggestion, you might get more responses to questions if you maybe change the title of this post, because the last thing I expected to see when clicking on the thread "Hey, you, Reptons!" was the announcement of a new Archie emulator![:?:]( "Question")
Have you looked at how the online port of Arculator auto-boots straight into software? eg. https://archi.medes.live/#disc=https:// ... eset=a3020
I suspect the James Pond issue just an artefact of how to implement hardware horizontal scrolling on the Archie. You use the border to cover the edges of the displayed screen area, reducing the actually displayed width, then shuffle the screen display start/end and border start/end as you move left/right, to scroll?
