OK, a small amount of progress...

I've got the battery out, and, unsurprisingly, its a mess under there:

I'll start cleanup in the area, but one thing that's obvious is that I'm going to have to replace a few of the 0 Ohm link resistors. At least one of them has already broken and the rest have taken the brunt of the damage so I might just replace all of them.

According to the service manual, L7 to L14 are 0 Ohm, 1/4 Watt 0.6" pitch. I haven't been able to find an exact match anywhere (I'm in the US, so DigiKey is my go-to component supplier). It would be nice, cosmetically, to replace them with something that looks similar, but I've had no luck. Would something like this be a functional replacement: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... 2-0R/18794?

Also, looking closer at the damaged area, should I replace IC4 (74LS145), IC5 (74LS145) and IC6 (8583) while I'm at it?

Another question on repair, what does LK5 (far SW of the board) do? Its not fitted, but I've seen a couple of folks use it to attach to a battery in the unused battery compartment, which seems like a neat solution. The upper pin is connected to 0V, but I haven't traced the lower pin yet as I haven't pulled the board out. If I were to install a connector there, any suggestions on a part to use (I'd prefer to connectorise rather than hard wire to make it easier to get the board out in the future)?

One final question for now, I'm trying to get the PSU out so that I can convert to 110V and (carefully, of course) check that it is working. Mine appears to have a black plastic clip retaining it (apologies for the less than great photo):

I've tried crimping it with needle nosed pliers, without success, any ideas how to release it? Also, is it reusable, or will I need to replace it with a screw?

Sorry for quite so many questions...

Paul
