32-bit acorn hardware • Re: A5000 - damaged

I'm pretty sure my old A5000 is battery damaged, although I haven't investigated yet. It boots to the Supervisor prompt but no further. Would I be best to tear it down and find out more, or sell it as parts/no working?
If it's got the original battery in it still, chances are it's sitting there eating the PCB as you type. Take action - at least snip it out and paper-towel the area. The value you might get for it can depend quite a bit on how bad that area is/looks. Likely you'll get best return by eBaying it. If it's a 33MHz "Alpha" machine (-35FC written on the ARM / 66MHz oscillator next to the ARM) then it's worth notably more than a standard (25MHz) machine, too - in other respects, all A5000s are essentially the same.
