The version number isn't necessarily important (you can see the diffences between version here: https://github.com/hoglet67/MMFS/releases ). There's not a lot of difference between 1.53 and 1.55.
What matters is whether the "retro store" board is compatible with the IFEL TurboMMC board. I'm going to _guess_ it is, since you described it as "retro store turbo mmfs".
I would first try it with the existing ROM and see if that works (the main difference between standard MMC and TurboMMC is that it can save data faster, so definitely test saving!).
