8-bit acorn hardware • Looking to send my beeb to someone for repair

Hi all,

It's Cardboard... blimey it's been a while, hasn't it? anyway, i've come here today to inquire about me sending my beeb over to someone for it to be fixed, seeing as i have inadequate tools and resources.

As it currently stands, I have tried to remove and replace the two 6522 chips on my Issue 4 beeb motherboard, only to inevitably snap off a spade connector for the power to the board, rendering the beeb rather hazardous if i were to plug it in and turn it on, which i won't do for obvious reasons.

one of the 6522 chips in my beeb is failing, and it needs to be replaced, and the spade connector needs to be resoldered onto the board.

seeing as i've already caused more problems than when i started, i feel as if i am unable to fix it, so i am asking you lovely folks "can i send my beeb to you so you can fix it?"

i'm unable to attend the abug north event, so i may need to find someone within the wider Yorkshire area (North, South, West, etc) who is currently available to drop it off at their house to be fixed. hopefully it will take all of 5 minutes to fix. i live in North Yorkshire, and i don't drive, but i have my carers who could drive me to the house of anyone who may be willing to help and i will drop off the beeb.

i don't want to go too far since i have only so many hours in a day allocated to me and my outings, and due to me living in assisted accommodation and safeguarding measures, i will have to come to you rather than you coming to me.

i was going to go with UkWebb (Richard) but they're busy for a few weeks, and i'd like to get my beeb fixed ASAP, so i'm looking for an alternative.

if anyone has any questions, let me know.
