At the beginning of this thread I speculated that ICL manufactured the blank Issue 1 PCBs. Based on three examples I'm now sure that they were all made by SPC in Norwich.
I was also fairly certain that only Cleartone made Issue 1 machines, but two Issue 1s built by ICL have recently surfaced with adjacent serial numbers just below 000500 - right in the middle of their run of Issue 2 machines.
I've posted a detailed write-up of 000491 on my website, complete with speculation about why ICL might have built those Issue 1 machines when they did. 000492's PCB is shown in the new Issue 1 section for comparison, along with Rob Napier's hand-built example. If anyone else has an Issue 1 they want to add to the gallery please get in touch via PM or the contact page on my site.
