That is essentially how you implement envelopes.I've shut out the OS so am writing directly to the sound chip. I'd like to know if there are any simple ways to implement envelope type-effects?
I'm thinking of simply adjusting the volume across the duration of each note but any suggestions would be welcome!
You have a ticker,on the ticker you count through the stages of the envelope, and at the appropriate points reprogram the 7648 with a different volume and/or different tone period. Doing them manually means you can do changes that aren't simple straight lines and repeats, you can do wiggly and curved changes. The ToneTable demo I posted yesterday changes the tone in a sin wave.
