Yes I do have an oscilloscope and logic probe and have been using those on this machine but have so far not seen anything strange with the main ICs (CPU, VIA, OS ROM etc) so have moved onto the supporting ICs and RAM.
When you break down that the temperature difference is only 3.5 deg C, it does not seem like a lot but I was just surprised the video and RAM ICs stood out on the thermal image a lot more than any of the other chips considering the machine had not been on for any decent amount of time.
I'll keep going on the other ICs but it's slow progress!
I'm glad we don't get to 30 deg C in Auckland. We've not even hit 30 as a maximum yet.
