On the station that you log in as SYST, if you do a *CAT, you should be able to see what Lib. has been set to for that user. For the Beeb, it would usually be $.Library, and for the Master it should be $.Library1. I'm assuming it's set to one of those when you log in as SYST, as you are able to run the command.

On the station that you log in as FRANKIE, if you do a *CAT, I'm assuming the Lib. has not been set, or is set to $

If the Lib. is not set when you log in as FRANKIE, then the station won't be able to find the * commands. This is probably what's causing the error you see. You can manually switch to the $.LIBRARY directory if using a beeb (*DIR $.LIBRARY) or $.LIBRARY1 directory if using a Master (*DIR $.LIBRARY1) and you should be able to run the command from there.

But we do need to figure out why Lib. is not being set correctly when you're logged in as FRANKIE. Can you post a screenshot of both machines after logging in as SYST and FRANKIE and doing the *CAT command?

If you've got a Master, there is an added complication relating to *OPT5, to make sure the correct library is set, but we'll deal with that later.

The syntax for the *NOTIFY / *VIEW / *REMOTE commands is detailed in the Econet user guide:
