32-bit acorn hardware • Re: 4 Mbytes and overclocking for A3020/A4000

For main memory I ordered some 28ns chips. I think they should perform fine, but the second extra bank is the question. My A3020 has these SIP-to-28-pin converters, and what I checked, you can indeed get 35ns chips - but they are a pain to get and you need to buy for $200 of them...
So I was thinking that wouldn't it make most sense to use the same 16-bit chips in the extension as well? It would need little logic in the riser PCB though.
I'm not sure I foloow exatly what is in your machine, but it is certainly possibly to fully replace the on-board ram with 16-bit chips.
