Thank you! I've decided that the best way to address confusion and misinformation is do put the research effort, find definitive answers where possible, and publish on the open web outside of the walled gardens. It's a lot of work, though! I'm glad you appreciate it.
What are you calling "The Walled Garden"? You mentioned Wikipedia in the article, and comment about correcting it. I remember some time back one of the UK national museums saying that they had changed track from trying to make their own web presence a better resource than Wikipedia to paying their staff to edit Wikipedia. Their reasoning was that Wikipedia received the hits - if they could get the information on there it would be distributed to a wider audience.

Back to the content of the article, I know it was about the bus mouse, but it does mention the serial mouse and, later, the PS/2 mouse. Was the serial mouse effectively an earlier version of the PS/2 mouse, i.e. quadrature decoding was done in the mouse and a character stream send to the serial port? If so, it may be worth mentioning it.
