Hi all!
With Arcadian being too busy to organise, the Northern Contingent has organised itself and are organising an ABUG! (that's a lot of organising!)
We've booked St. Mary's Community Centre in Leeds for Friday 6th and Saturday 7th for two full days of Acorn nerdery
(Sadly we weren't able to get the Sunday morning as the church next door uses it then.)
We have a nice big hall (there's space for about 40 tables conservatively)... There's a lovely little seating area on the back wall for your teas and coffees ... (kitchen with kettles etc. is behind the camera)And a bar too...Local amenities include the Brown Cow pub right across the road (it's an Ember Inns chain pub but gets decent reviews on Tripadvisor)
There's a Premier Inn next door to the Brown Cow currently charging around £40 a night.
Food options include the aforementioned Brown Cow, a Co-Op supermarket just across the road, and a few local takeaways (some very good indeed).
Transport links are very good --
A booking thread will be appearing in the coming weeks!

Transport links are very good --
- Road - Easy links to the M1 and M62 and almost in the centre of the country. Wakefield or Bradford in 20-35 minutes. Manchester or Sheffield in about an hour. Birmingham in 2hrs. If you're visiting from further afield, Glasgow, Edinburgh and London are about 4hrs away.
- Rail - Cross Gates station about 20 minutes walk away or 5 minutes and a short walk on the bus. Garforth station is one stop further down the line and about 15 minutes away by bus. Both stations are under 10 minutes from Leeds.
- Bus - regular bus services from Leeds (19/19A disembark at Whitkirk Church)
