Thank you, that's a great idea. I didn't realize that IDE-SD existed. I ordered one right away.Whilst I can't speak specifically about the HCCS, I would echo philpem's advice about trying to find industrial CF cards as they don't have the removable storage flag set in firmware, unless you have an adapter that can mask this bit.
Those that behave as removable storage are not really suitable as IDE drives, a problem I hit when trying to use CF cards with my Amiga 500. I eventually swapped my CF card for an IDE to SD adapter and that just worked.
