I picked up some C64s, a C128 and some Atari 130XEs that had been stored somewhere unfortunate - a barn, shed, basement, something. Full of plant and animal matter.
Having cleared the debris, the C64 boards and the one Atari I've looked at seem promising - no obvious damage. The 128 is in very poor condition, and I'm probably not up to fixing it.
These machines are cool and all, but none are built like a tank in the way the Beebs are, nor I think as usable for messing around, and BBC Basic just remains miles ahead of the BASICs on these machines (although I think Locomotive Basic on the Amstrads deserves a mention).
