I find it suspcious that:

• the original version (and, yours) reports itself as "The BASIC Editor",
• be reports itself as "Basic Editor Two"
• tbe (also in the zip, v1.38, runs 'Hi') is "Our BASIC Editor"

All with the same length names. So the "Two" might just be a convenient fit, rather than a great leap forward.

But if I've inferred the history from tonylobstery's rom library aright, neither is the v1.32 originally shipped by Acornsoft for the Beeb.

NB: Looking at a hexdump reveals that "Basic Editor Two" needs starting with *be80, rather than *be.
