Maybe, it's a simple enough mod. When I was trying to get a good 6MHz clock on one of my "Beeb from scratch" boards, I put a couple of cut-off IC pin sockets into the location for a capacitor (I can't remember which one) and then could change values without soldering. What is the bandwidth of your scope?
