After discussion with others (notably IanS) I have updated my version of this board to have a slightly adjusted placement of the connectors - both the spacing between the pairs of rows, which I determined were 13mil too close together, but also the spacing of the two pairs of connectors in each row which, whilst I believe per spec for zigzag RAM parts, are actually better spaced as ctorwy31 suggests, at a standard 0.1" pitch. I've built one, and it does seem to fit better in an A3010, without straining/bending/angling the pins.
And on the back of that, I think my question about replacement A3010 RAM sockets could be answered as to just use two standard SIL strips, though the non-turned-pin ones are a bit tall really.
