Today i finally bit the bullet and ponied up for a latest version China made (Probably cloned) Xgecu T48 (TL866-3G) ROM programmer, with 44 adapters, and i added a 40/42 pin adapter for doing Amiga kickstart ROMS (27C400 or 27C800) I also picked up 15 27C256 ROMS to use with the BBC and Atari ST as TOS ROMS.
Has anybody used these Xgecu T48's? and is it a straightforward proposition to flash BBC compatible ROMS? Ive never done any DIY ROM flashing before. but have flashed hardware with build in Static ram, BIOS chips, Boards with PIC's built in that required updating etc. What are these programmers capable of? as its hard to work out what with the badly translated pidgin english, and lack of documentation in general. what these can and cannot do. at a future date id like to do my own PIC based retro computing add-ons. I use things like the DanDanator with my ZX's, ULiFAC with my Amstrad CPC's and SideCartridge with my Atari ST's. so its those type of projects id be interested in doing. but for now.. ill stick to flashing ROM's
Is there any downsides? other than basic documentation, limitations on say voltage range i can flash? I also bought a UV eraser along with the programmer kit.
