The Electron start-up fault gallery suggests a possible RAM fault, at least if the failure modes translate somewhat from the Electron. Given that the white stripes suggest mode 6 with the background colour set to white, one can hypothesise that the CPU gets as far as setting the screen mode, but no-one has been in a position to investigate failures using the appropriate diagnostic devices. Certainly, this kind of failure mode is not necessarily an indication of a ULA problem: I don't think the display would be as coherent as this if that were the case.On switch on with keyboard on gets the White block lines
