Never mind on the 56Rs, I was looking at the "A" schematic where R132, R133, R134 & R137 are 68R. I'm now on the "B" version where they are 56R....
56 or 68 makes basically no odds anyway. I'm not sure about "A" or "B"" schematic, but 194,000 is "Adelaide" with the daughter card, and 194,003 is the more common Arm250 board and since you said you had an Arm250, it must be that schematic, which does have 56R as I mentioned.

You can't "bypass" IC25, no matter what RAM configuration you have (1,2 or 4MB...). It is an easy swap though, but there's no evidence that's the fault.

How do C164, 165, 159 (the RAM supply electrolytics) look ?
