Not specifically about changing the 16MHz crystal, but there is some discussion in the RGBtoHDMI Wiki about changing capacitor C48 to improve Mode 7 display:I do think it's worth fitting a new 16MHz (X1) crystal and reading up about the things that you may want to try to improve the 6MHz clock. Hoglet posted about this in the RGB to HDMI topic. I don't have a link to hand.
