but I think someone might need to explain the Music 500 element, because I'm not really getting it.

The link to the IA has a quote “for computer-operating pianist or pianist with tape” which, presumably, means the energetic pianist also needs to cue in additional sounds from computer or tape player.

I haven’t listened to much of it, but the first quiet section at least appears to be “not piano”Lots of notes, echoing the piano’s lead followed by a whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop siren as the piano rejoins.
