32-bit acorn hardware • A3000 to PC file transfer options

Hi, and season's greetings!

Now that my A3000 is working great thanks to many helpful people here I'm on a quest to find ways to transfer files between it and my PC. My current process is CFCARD -> Amiga 1200 -> 720K DOS disk -> A3000 . I bought a USB PC floppy to drop the Amiga from this loop but that proved less reliable than the Amiga route (many more disk errors) so that drive is winging it's way back to the supplier.

I've had several suggestions which are listed below with my comments after looking into them a bit online. I would appreciate any advice from other people's experience about the easiest way to go/or correction of my misunderstanding. Sorry for all the questions but I'm a bit overwhelmed at how complicated it seems with many not-straightforward options.... Also I'm trying to stick to Linux if possible on the PC side which rules out some of the options which require Window tools to edit disk images.
  • Greaseweazle. I do have a spare 3.5" PC drive but as far as I can tell Greaseweazle is more about floppy images than just copying files back and forth (please correct me if I'm wrong....) so the software side of it will be cumbersome for the purpose of file transfer
  • IDE-SD or IDE-CF card adapter. I already have one of @IanS's internal 8-bit IDE podules with a DOM and I have a spare IDE-SD adapter from my Amiga which I assume will work if I just get a suitable cable to allow both at the same time. However looking at forums and searching online suggests to me it will not be possible to have the SD card FAT formatted, so I will again be dealing with creating and modifying ADFS images on the SDCARD. Also it will be internal which is not so convenient.
  • Gotek. I assume I'll need to remove the physical drive for this which is working so seems a shame. Also is there convenient software to create the disk images from scratch on the PC to transfer files?
  • Ethernet podules. Can one be as an external podule? And is there anywhere to buy one...?
Any comments/experience most welcome. Again, sorry for the myriad of questions.
