Hmm. I'd been doing this as GROOT and *READFREE returned 256k, and even after doing SETFREE (as SYST) it didn't seem to change. So maybe I'm doing something stupid. (EDIT: Hmm *setfree was apparently being intercepted in a ROM? If I *RUN $.Library.SETFREE then it seems to work).You need to *SETFREE even for SYST I'm told... that one foxed me for a while as well!
But READFREE on SYST return 1,073,724,432 so I re-ran the test as SYST.
And it seemed to be getting somewhere. I was seeing a new packet every 5 seconds or so. But at time offset 168 then things went weird.
I eventually killed rpcemu and looked at it from BeebEm. The filesize on the fileserver is correct...
