Hi all.
We've added some more features to the BBC Micro Games Archive.
The archive homepage now has a slightly slicker look. We’ve removed the release-type filters from the top of the homepage (they were those blue lozenge things) and instead they’re in in the search panel on the right, where they now appear as filters that you can toggle once you have performed a search. This feels a lot more logical and less cluttered.
Also, we’ve added a highlight function to the site, so we can highlight particular games. Our first “Game of the Month” is Crystal Castle, and there’s also an improved version of the “Lucky dip” button that shows a random game’s details as a highlight (you can refresh the page to get a new random suggestion).
Finally, there’s a minor addition to the links page, which now contains links to the various zips of the archive. These used to live on a dedicated zip file generation page, but we’ve had to put that behind a login as it kept getting hit by robots that would trigger the costly process of regenerating the archive zips. So for those of you who need to grab the latest zips, you can now do so from the links page.
Hope you like the new features…
