Thanks for responding.
If you've had a !Boot installed, then it has likely unplugged all of the network modules to make it easier for it to softload drivers at the bottom of the stack.
For a !Boot-less system (probably a good place to start), do *ROMModules and check to see what is "unplugged" in the last column (if it all shot off the top of the screen, do Ctrl-N to stop scrolling and try again. Shift scrolls the next page). From memory, you'll need at least Econet (from the podule), NetI, NetFS and NetFiler.
The modules are showing as is the Podule. The card is actually working my problem is I can't find Net!, NetFS and Netfiler to install, they aren't in the standard !boot 2 disk package and I just can't seem to find the right download for them? The RiscOS version is currently 3.6.
If you'd rather have !boot (and you'll probably need to sooner or later) you absolutely have to have an !Boot that works with the version of RO you have. For 3.7/3.71 that will be either the J233 version (the last full HD contents) or the Uniboot one from the old Acorn FTP site. Once installed, double click !Boot to get into the configuration utility, then go to Network, then AUN, and Enable it. Saving your way back out should then reboot the machine... and finally give you the Network filer icon.
When I double click the !boot I get a Net icon which lets me find the file server, which it does, and select print server which fails but then I dont have one configured. The only tick box I have is 'Use arthurlib', I did have the AUN when I had uniboot but I have reset back to standard !boot at the moment.
Don't try to turn on Access/IP networking, in fact check that they are both disabled: they need the EconetA module to tunnel IP over Econet (the version - "DCI4" - of which that works with RO3.7 was a third-party product so not included by Acorn. The "client" side has now been found, but I believe there are still issues with the gateway. It's a long story, so best not to go there for the time being!).
Note also that - whichever way you set it up - the command line defaults to the current filing system, which is usually ADFS: you'll need to do *Net to switch into the network filing system before *I am/*Logon will work.
I am having to *rmreinit Netfs and Econet to be able to get I am login to work. Once I have done that this is working fine.
And, finally, you need to set the Econet station number - for which you need the "SetStation" utility that came with the Level 4 fileserver. This is not a *Configure option: you need the utility. There are a couple of versions of the utility knocking about: not sure which works on an A7000.
The station ID is set at 7 which is fine as currently only machine other than The BBC Master Level 3 FS.
