I don't believe that. RISC OS just isn't like that. You might consider proving this to yourself on other system by rolling, say, a 3.1 remix with steve's tool, leaving out the sound modules, then softloading them. In the right order. Order is important - touch SoundDMA and other modules then need to be reinit'd for example.a. It seems to be a "thing" that you can't softload the sound support modules and expect them to work, either in an emulator or IRL. Maybe they need to be present upon bootup for detection purposes?
