Ok all done (sorry for delay I was waiting on the regulator for ages). I have soldered it all up but have a couple of questions, when I removed the solder from the original 7815, I don't know if I removed a trace, or if one of the legs just isn't supposed to attach to anything, it looks like in the schematic it does. So I assume it should attach where the red line is? Once it's all back together the programmer is giving out 10.3v on pin 14, but adjusting VR1 (to increase it to around 12.5) makes no difference to this. Also whilst it can still read roms ok, the EPROM software now hangs at 0000 when starting to program an eprom. That'll be fine. You'll need an M3 bolt and nut to attach it to the regulator, but you will be able to get away without the usual insulating pad and bush in this instance. Don't worry about heatsink compound (aka Thermpath). It probably will be easiest to attach the heatsink to the regulator and then solder it to the board. You'll have to leave the leads a bit long to clear VR1.Too small or just right? (The top option labelled bolt on) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285081761321
