I think that's a reasonable price for the bundle - because it includes the ARM3 (which I'd value at £150 or so on its own, based on what I can make them for) and a nice IDE card, and doesn't appear to have any/significant school markings/etc. But prices are only based on what people believe things are "worth", so if you're satisfied, that's all that should matter - just enjoy it.£355 including the delivery, which I didn't think was too bad (please tell me I did ok!).
The fan will probably be noisy, but the stock ones have strong airflow which explains part of it. You can get away without one, but the RAM can get hot, so you might consider just swapping in a modern standard 12V 50mm fan (they're the same mounts) - I've done that on some of mine. Forget the filter, if it's even still present and hasn't disintegrated to dust.Is there anything I should do in terms of maintenance etc... e.g. fan replacement... stuff like that? I'm really new to Arcs.
BE CAREFUL if you remove the PCB from the machine. You MUST remove the central screw in the bottom/back of the case, otherwise you'll drag the PCB over the protruding end and damage the underneath. IME, probably 75% of machines I see have this exact damage. I can't imagine there's much reason for you to remove the board, though.
The A440 has a 100uF 16V tant on board, across the 12V line, which is only used to run the fan. This has a tendancy to blow dramatically in A300s at least. You may decide just to preventatively snip it off - it's C37.
