8-bit acorn hardware • Master pi tube and graphics speed

I fitted an internal pi tube to a master. I then wrote silly random line program in basic just to draw junk on the screen.
There doesn't appear to be any noticable difference in the graphics speed when running with the tube.

I had thought there would be a significant increase as the processor runs at 1.2GHz, obviously not nVidia level, but I thought the line calcuation part would be fast and that would show the limitation of the tube to graphic speed. I tried various second processor modes, just in case I sleected the wrong one, but 0 and 2 should have been the max speed.

So the question is, how do the graphics interact with the pi tube setup, should there be a noticable speed performance for drawing, or does the tube hinder that and almost slower than the host processor doing the same work?
