This may be of interest in this context.

Its a couple of tools one that will dump a podule rom chunk directory to files and a second that might if you are lucky be able to reassemble them with some changes. It was handy for getting newer versions of filecore into older systems before the proper rom upgrades got released. Its also got folders for all the podules I had at hand with their contents dumped out.

Rebuilding a podule ROM does often require an understanding of the page size the page latch location and other things you learn from the circuit diagram so that can be a bit tricky.

I seem to remember there is a concept of the simple podule which only needs to provide one byte of ID. I don't remember the MFM podule but since the drivers for the same hardware on the motherboard are already in the ROM it may be that it only needed the simple ID.

The attachment is a !Spark file.

This is from a SA RPC with RO 4.39, though it must have run on earlier versions, supporting socket 8 for the NIC is certainly a RPC thing not an Archimedes series thing it probably wasn't used on anything earlier than an RPC.
