*FORMAT is working for me on hardware and I've patched it not to hang in b2. But do double check the *CONFIG drive mapping so that commands for these drives aren't being sent into the void; to make absolutely sure, this sequence will clear the Challenger workspace and reset the micro:This probably wasn't the bug in question, but the routine to test for write protect (LB905) was unnecessarily waiting for a motor on condition. Separately I ran into a problem with Xfer in C and as a result, made sure seek commands return a zero status in OSWORD &7F. chal210.asm.txt has been updated.
Is writing to side 2 still giving trouble? It was possibly the fault of one of these bugs but please try again and let me know the result.
