8-bit acorn hardware • Re: Watford Electronics external Co-Pro adapter

Strange that there are no schematics for the main co-pro cct board available anywhere though
I have never seen it but a friend recently produced a enhanced clone of it so it must be here somewhere.
I would have thought as it accepts any flavour of BBC second processor, that the WE adapter would have been a popular purchase.
It had competition from the official Acorn one:

There are not all that many practical use cases.
1. You have a m128 and the internal co pro spot is already occupied & you want Master Turbo 6502 and the 80188
2. you have a Beeb and you want the Master Turbo co pro.
3. you have a Beeb with an Acorn 1770 and you want the 80188 (I am not actually sure if this works)

I think that is about the extent of it. I have been testing the recent clone of it with a beeb and a Master Turbo co pro, since my M128 has internal pi tube direct now.

I think now looking at the pictures that there has been dissuasion that the PSU is woefully under spec for reliably powering any of the cp-pros but particularly the 80188.

If the rest of the electronics turn out to be good I would potentially suggest replacing the power supply with a little shielded 5v 2-3A switch mode job from Meanwell etc.
