No one should mess about with sulfuric acid.
When I was a teenager and hanging out on my mate’s farm an incident with a tractor battery led to one of the farm hands’ crotch getting generously doused in battery acid. After the initial total panic discovering that it wasn’t burning at all he went to the hose to wash down. Thankfully my mates Dad was wise and stopped him, shipping him off to A&E where they thoroughly washed his tackle and legs in an alkali solution. Had he poured water on, we would have suffered seriously unpleasant burns. His overalls went in the washing machine and came out with no crotch.

None of this is relevant to circuit board rot. I suspect that using vinegar to clean the green crap is likely not the best approach, not least because it does a crappy job of that. There must be something better to clean up the green.
