This thread is absolutely fascinating, thanks for all your work on this Mark! Flying down to the surface of planets was certainly something I wanted to be able to do when playing the original Elite, although once you start thinking about it, it's pretty hard to imagine how it would actually work.
Does this code suggest that a BBC micro version of Lander might actually have been possible, or is it too slow?
I too never realised that the markings on the Transporter are "DB" and "IB", although it's so obvious once you've seen it.
