I've commissioned my FileStore E01S/E40S into the BeebMaster Econet but one thing I haven't resolved (apart from the hard disc being broken) is the erratic real time clock. It runs ahead of time when powered on, as I found here 8 years ago:

What I don't think I noticed at the time is that it runs slow when powered off.
A rough experiment I have just down shows that whilst powered off for 10 minutes, the clock advances by about 2 minutes, so it loses 8 minutes.
Powered on for 10 minutes, the clock advanced by 15 minutes, so gains 5, and on for 20 minutes it advances 28 minutes, gaining 8. It doesn't seem to be gaining as much time as it did in 2016.
Is it a question of checking, and probably replacing, the components around the RTC circuity, X1 and associated caps and resistors? Does the fact that it speeds up when powered on and slows down when powered off give any clues as to the faulty component?
I've put this in Hardware by the way as although it's an Econet device I think this is more a general hardware fault than a problem specific to Econet.
