I know some people won't like this
it would be poor to "have" to have your hub and connect the A4 directly to your hub.
Let's be clear on this. Nobody would be forced into going with the hub. Put whatever connector you want on the end of the cable, and connect it directly to whatever hub / drop box you have. It's your choice. I don't particularly care. All I was looking to do was give people options. If they want a fully moulded cable that plugs into a mini DIN socket at the edge of the A4 then the most cost effective option so far is a mini DIN 6 cable. And I can easily provide a connection via my hub if that's what they want. Yes, I can get a fully moulded mini DIN 5 / DIN 5 cable fabricated, but with the 200 MOQ it's just not going to be cost effective. The reason for selecting mini DIN6 over any other connector at the A4 end is that I can easily make a dual purpose footprint and I can still put on the original mini DIN5 connector if that's what someone wants.

At the end of the day, just because I've created a combined mini DIN 5 / mini DIN 6 footprint doesn't mean that we need to use it for mini DIN 6 connector. I've actually got a couple of cables with moulded mini DIN 5 at one end, and I'll solder on a standard DIN5 plug at the other end. If that works out ok, then we can maybe just leave it at that.
