Yes, here's a photo using the precompiled version, I get a similar message with the v4.0.2 compiled from source except the version is different:It appears you receive ok when you press rest on the Modem by getting the initialisation stuff.

It's TX that's not playing. Double check the wiring. If that's fine then must likely be a firmware thing. Sorry I can't be of more help more. I was lazy and bought a pre made Wimodem so hats off to you for building your own.
Richard Webb builds these too I think, he might be able to assist. He is always very helpful if able to.
