My favourite workman came round today, and while he was outside doing something, I asked him if he wanted to make another hole.
First hole in the meter cupboard ceiling came out inside the wall in the BeebRoom, so a second hole was commissioned:
Unbelievably, the telephone wire disappears behind this panel in the meter cupboard, where the master telephone socket is hidden!! Then the wire disappears again and I have still no idea how it eventually comes out of the roof to connect to the telegraph pole.
Second hole came out in the BeebRoom:RJ45 plugs on either end of the new upstairs/downstairs Cat5 cable, and plugged into one of the sockets in the BeebRoom:And at last, powerline abolished!!
