Looking at the following link: -

it is feasible to have Econet working through the Unipod Podule, with an appropriate software module.

I am assuming (I know, one should never assume) that the BBC’s that use either the ADF10 or the AEH52, check for the presence of the module, by reading a particular address and getting a known value back.

Given that a Unipod in Slot 1 of a RiscPC, returns &033C4000 in response to: -

Code:

SYS “Podule_HardwareAddresses”,,,,1 sync%PRINT ~sync%
Assuming (there he goes again) that the Unipod recognises when something is plugged into the 8 BIT bus and disables the printer port, correct me if I’m wrong, it should be possible to access the Econet module.
If I plug an ADF10 into the Unipod, is there a way to check using BASIC (my ARM Assembler knowledge is nil), if the Econet module can be seen, by reading the podule memory address or addresses?
