Hi Mike,
On the model B the ROM sockets are on the right front, beneath the keyboard. There are 4 available sockets working in from the right. The rightmost socket has the highest priority, that is a ROM in that socket is seen first. It usually has BASIC fitted so that the machine will boot to BASIC. There may also be a filing system ROM fitted if your machine has a disc or Econet interface. This should go to the leftmost of the 4 sockets.
The 2 remaining sockets can hold any language/utility ROM you wish. Wordwise would go into one of these 2 sockets. Make sure you plug the ROM in with the correct orientation.
To enter Wordwise, type *WORDWISE at the > prompt. Ctrl-Break or *BASIC will get you back to BASIC.
If Wordwise goes into the rightmost socket the computer will boot into Wordwise rather than BASIC.
