8-bit acorn hardware • Re: 6809 in a Beeb 6502 CoPro using Liber809

There are a few community projects I've used that have the 6809 as a co-processor for BBC Micro. These have a small client OS that interfaces the host machines MOS (6502) to the 6809. I think there have been a couple of goes at getting Flex working on this but nobody has had OS9 or any derivatives working

I've also built a few projects for the 6809.
  • 6809 multi-board computer A sprawling mess of boards that make up something that feels like a more capable BBC micro (if you don't look in the box)
  • Blitter A number of different boards all of which allow a 6809E or 6309E to be used as the main CPU in a beeb. This will run a ported BBC MOS or Flex. A good candidate for a port of NitrOS9 but I've not got round to it yet!
I've also developed a lot of (unfinished) software for the above two boards. The main highlights being MOS operating system, BBC BASIC (with 6809 assembler), Flex and a few filing system ROMs. All collected in a a rather messy Git repo

Along with Hoglet and BigEd of this forum we've ported the BBC BASIC rom to run on Grant Searle's board and Dave has developed his own 6x09 SBC with MMU which is just waiting for somebody to port NitrOs9 to it!
