32-bit acorn software: other • Re: Revelation '97 music competition

I had a search through the Arcade BBS archive, since they used to have a good collection of Acorn tracker music back in the 90s...

81449 is an invitation text file with more details of the contests. Apparently there was also a bitmap graphics contest - maybe they didn't get any entries for it?

81448 is a copy of the invitation intro, which is already archived elsewhere. Some of the demos were uploaded there as well afterwards, but I couldn't see any of the music under obvious names.

84234 is a 1997 dump of messages from the Fidonet Acorn Music echo, which has some clues:
  • Chris Davis was a Digital Symphony user, and wrote TrackConv, the 1996 version of which (80920) has a contact address for him in Cheltenham, and says he was "Chris Davis (Entity) of the PPP & Cancer". There are other DS tunes by him on Arcade, but they tend to have very generic names ("Demo", "Demo2"), so perhaps his entry wasn't actually titled "Entry".
  • "Exel's Lonely Nights" gets mentioned in a discussion - that mod is on there as 89286 with the description "Lonely Nights (by Excel of Quantum) a sparked tracker file." So maybe some of the other Quantum people might have an idea?
