It looks like the Spectrum Next Team have quietly uploaded a new Next firmware which enables alternate cores on KS2 Nexts.

Interesting that they have updated the binary, but not the source files:

I see the README now includes:So they might just have taken the workaround that I did back in December.

I'll try this out tomorrow, and if it works OK I'll publish the updated Beeb cores.
